GASKET

The gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually used to prevent pressure, corrosion, and natural thermal expansion, cold contraction, and pipeline leakage between two things. Since machined surfaces cannot be perfect, irregularities can be filled with shims.
A gasket is a crucial element in many manufacturing processes, as they are obtainable in numerous specifications. Gasket material is used for an installation based on the features of the material, such as its resistance to chemicals, temperatures (or temperature fluctuations), pressures, acids, gases, and sometimes electromagnetic or electrical forces. Gaskets are widely used in industries as diverse as food processing, petrochemical, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and water.
